Prospective Marijuana Grower to Hold Public Forum

Those in the Florence area can attend a public form regarding Just Healthy nn August 1 at 7p.m. The forum will be held at the Garden House at Look Park. The goal of the forum is to for the new company to introduce itself to the community and answer questions that residents and business neighbors might have.

Invitations were mailed out and others were hand-delivered, but the invitation to attend is extended to all Florence residents, according to Daily Hampshire Gazette. Part of the forum will be to discuss the greenhouse and office space that will be constructed. The company also wants residents to know that processing of medical marijuana will also take place on the property.

Co-founder Neil Phelan said, “Neither of these are required by law.”

The operations at this facility will supply medical marijuana for a dispensary on Pleasant Street.

A phone conference is also available for those that wish to obtain the information but cannot attend.

To listen to the phone conference, call 224-501-3412 and use access code 324-064-085.

In May, a lot of questions went unanswered because answers weren’t yet available.

Regarding that, Phelan said, “We didn’t come with answers. This is us coming back with those answers.”

There were concerns regarding the marijuana odor that would come from the facility. Phelan cites that the odor will be controlled by a company called ORTECH. The company has addressed safety and traffic concerns, by conducting studies.

Providing that the necessary approvals are given on August 9, development of the location can begin.
