This Is Where New Hampshire’s Senate Candidates Stand on Marijuana

Pot Law

With Election Day being looming, voters want to know where their potential senators stand on particular issues. One of those issues is marijuana. For some voters, where a candidate stands on legalization, decriminalization and reform is crucial.

The candidate for District 8, Ruth Ward, does not support recreational marijuana legalization, the Ledger Transcript says. Her opponent, Jenn Alford-Teaster, does support decriminalization but is undecided when it comes to legalization.

Here is where candidates in other districts stand:

  • District 9, Jeanne Diestch (Democrat) – Supports legalization. She said, “I believe that cannabis should be a controlled substance, sold in liquor stores, like alcohol.”
  • District 9, Denise Ricciardi (Republican) – does not support legalization
