Poll: New Hampshire Residents Back Marijuana Legalization

NH Cannabis

A recent Granite State Poll by the University of New Hampshire Survey Center shows that the majority of New Hampshire residents favor legalizing possession of small amounts of marijuana. The same group supports leaving the legal age to purchase alcohol at 21 and leaving the legal age to purchase tobacco products at 18.

Sixty-one percent of Democrats surveyed support this type of legislation, according to The Seattle Times. Independents showed 56-percent support and Republicans showed the least support at 49-percent.

The poll took place via phone between February 10 and February 21. The survey includes responses from 566 randomly chosen adults in the state.
