The entire House is the next step in the process to add chronic pain and PTSD to New Hampshire’s medical marijuana qualifying conditions list. The vote resulted with 12 – 6 in support of the additions for chronic pain and 9 – 8 for PTSD. The recommendation now moves on to the full House for a vote.
Veterans and others struggling with PTSD flooded representatives’ inboxes and voicemails enough to convince lawmakers to vote for PTSD, according to Valley News.
Representative Jess Edwards said, “As a non-clinician, this feels like a good bill to me.” Edwards is an army veteran, so the subject is sensitive for him.
The passage of PTSD and chronic pain brought some attendees to tears – happy tears. Bills to include other conditions such as opioid addiction and fibromyalgia are stalled in legislature right now.
