Medical Marijuana Doctor Office Is Providing Free Visits for Veterans

Canna Care Docs

Canna Care Docs, a medical marijuana doctor office with locations in eight states, is helping ease people’s pain just by showing some compassion to the nation’s veterans. Not all veterans can afford the cost of obtaining medical marijuana licenses and they can’t speak with their VA doctors about recommending medical marijuana. So, Canna Care Docs is providing free consults to veterans suffering from pain, PTSD and other chronic conditions.

Canna Care Docs recently helped veteran Stephen Mandile, according to Daily Hampshire Gazette. Mandile was wounded in the line of duty while serving in Iraq. He suffers from chronic pain and PTSD. Painkillers took away his quality of life and reduced him to living “dose-to-dose.” Mandile said, “I went from being dead inside to waking up again” after switching to medical marijuana from pharmaceuticals.

Kathleen McKinnon, Canna Care Docs’ director of operations, said it is their way of “giving back to the community like any good business.”

Canna Care Docs has given away nearly $300,000 in doctor consultations since May 2014. There is no end in sight for this program. The program is helping veterans get off painkillers and other addictive prescriptions.

Canna Care Docs hopes that other healthcare professionals will join them in their efforts to help veterans and others who are unable to afford the care they need.
